Having returned this week from a wonderful Italian tour set up by Diana Maiola, we wanted to follow-up with our sincere thanks for a job well done. My husband is now telling his friends and relatives that our trip was 10 times better than he had hoped or thought it could be and he is normally a tough sell for tours. This is all thanks to Diana. The trip was so well planned that there was never a hitch. The locations we visited were wonderful, the hotels were supurb, the guides were terrific and the food was outstanding. The time went to fast and we were home
with fabulous memories and the hopes that we can return for another trip with Diana in the

We spent 12 glorious days with Diana touring Italy. Diana based the majority of the trip on what we told her we wanted to see. There were 5 couples in our group, all long time friends from Cleveland. Diana did a great job of putting the schedule together based on our desires.

Our small group had two private buses with excellent drivers and several train trips to reduce driving time. Like a Swiss watch, everything was precisely on time.

Diana’s choices of private guides in various cities were outstanding. They were true professionals and wonderful human beings.

Several highlights of our trip centered around activities Diana wanted us to see. These trips were put into our itinerary before leaving Cleveland. One trip was to a Tuscan winery run by Mario and his family. Outstanding experience! This was out done by visiting Diana’s father at his villa where we were treated to dinner, lunch and wonderful conversations based on Italian history and humor.

Never have 12 days gone by so quickly with so many varied experiences. Diana was always there making sure we were all together and on schedule.

Can’t wait to go back!

I could spend whole days (and I have!) talking about my Italian Tours by Diana experiences. On the very first night of our first "Trip of a Lifetime" vacation to Italy with Diana, my wife and I knew on the spot, that we had to commit to another trip the very next year. The rest of that first visit proved to us over and over that Diana's Tours are dollar for dollar, the best way to not only enjoy a vacation, but to travel abroad, period. I guess if I had to keep it brief, I'd say that we haven't ever gone on a trip with Diana, when we haven't Slept in a Palace, Dined in a Castle, Eaten like a King each day, and Tasted the exquisite Wines of Montalcino or Barolo (or both!) right at the vineyard! Across two trips, we've had personally guided tours of over 19 major cities. We've seen Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Brunelleschi; Venice, Rome, the Cinque Terre, Pompei and so much more that it couldn't possible be described here. Diana took such good care of our whole group at all times, that we truly felt at home in all of Italy. Our Third trip will be next year, and I know from the last two, that this vacation will truly be The Trip of a Lifetime!

A recent trip to Italy with Diana was one I will always remember fondly. The small group allowed us flexibility to stop at points of interest. Because Diana has a good working relationship  with the tour guides and  restaurant owners we were treated like family - the highest compliment in Italy. We had been to Italy several times before we went on our Italian Tours by Diana, so I wasn’t sure how much more of an “Italian Experience” we could be offered. However, soon after meeting Diana, I knew that Diana’s tours were going to be one of the best parts of touring Italy. Not only does she have outstanding relationships with her guides, but also it is so much fun to have her share her personal favorites with you and have them become yours. Our tour of Sicily was by far one of the best highlights of a trip that was full of highlights. The personally guided trips of the major cities will let you experience them like you never have before. From the bustle of Rome, to the intimate hill towns, Diana’s knowledge and love of the country serve to make your trip that much more special. One thing that we most appreciated with Diana’s tours was that we never felt like we were “on tour”. There was plenty of time to enjoy the magic that is Italy and make it your own.  We can’t say enough about the trip that we had with Diana. Diana planned an itinerary that gave us a capsule view of Italy. The majesty of Rome, the art of Florence, and the beauty and history of Medieval towns.

I am back home and already missing Italy very much. This was the journey of a lifetime. Diana, your passion for this country was deeply illustrated in all that you did to make this unforgettable. People ask all the time how I enjoyed Italy. What's frustrating is words
alone cannot even begin to capture the essence of just how amazing this experience was.
However, that's all I can offer unless they too decide to go to Italy with you as their tour guide.

You arranged tours to all the known landmarks and were so organized we didn’t have to worry about anything. You were prepared yet flexible enough to accommodate our needs. That is
not an easy feat with such a diverse group and yet you made it look effortless. You took us
to towns we never knew existed which allowed us to fully experience their way of life. 

Having a private bus for all of our travels and making reservations to museums so we didn’t have to stand in line was brilliant. You made us feel comfortable in what might otherwise feel strange for those of us unfamiliar with the area, language and culture. This allowed us to completely relax and enjoy the beauty of Italy. 

Your excitement and knowledge for Italy allowed all our senses to fully come alive. From the food and wine we tasted to the beautiful sites we saw. To the smells of the lemon and olive trees to arranging a private cooking class in your hometown.

We experienced Italy as it should be experienced. I can “hear” the cheers in the Coliseum.
And what a lovely time we had in San Gimignano and San Giuliano, to name a few.
Walking the streets of San Giuliano, hanging out in the piazza, Italian karaoke, staying at
the agriturismo, attending a true Italian mass, watching people interact, amazing 2-3 hour meals filled with great conversation and especially meeting your family is something I will
always cherish. 

I can still see the rolling hillside in San Gimignano and breathtaking views, not to mention
great shopping, in the charming town. I wish I were there right now. And thank you for arranging a private wine tour at Cantina Abbadia, with owners so welcoming they made it
a delightful experience. 

The views of Sorrento still play in my mind as magical. It was the best hotel with posh rooms and a spectacular view. I still remember the contentment of sitting on my balcony with a
glass of wine, eating cheese and prosciutto I purchased earlier from San Giuliano. I was watching the cruise ships move along the peaceful water and it was surreal. 

What possessed me to go to La Bella Italia (by myself) with Diana Maiola and Italian Tours By Diana two times? I will tell you. Being able to create new and lasting memories with someone, who for me, is like family. Everyone on the tour clicked, and so it was like being with family members. This type of tour requires someone with a particular personality, and so it is filled with a lot of emotion and the best of the best. On a tour with Diana you are exposed to a little bit of everything from a small village, forgotten in time, to a big, energetic city - you will get a taste of everything.

Entrusting Diana with the details of the tour is the best way to go. First of all, Diana is trustworthy, and she has a proven track record. In many places we visited or stayed we felt that we got the V.I.P. treatment, from cooking with her father in their 350 year old villa to staying at Hotel Regina Palace (translates as the Queens Palace Hotel), we felt like royalty. So, these tours are completely worry free. Her familiarity with Italia is so thorough, I know that we are in good hands experiencing what she has known so well all her life.

Her tours never feel commercialized. They are instead, very personal and intimate. All of my life growing up I was fortunate to visit my family in Italy. I went on several trips before going with Diana. With Diana I discovered off the beaten track places that have become so much a part of my cherished memory bank. I have had so many happy, tear-filled moments over good wine and beautiful scenery. We never ate in places that were overwhelmed with tourists. Instead, she made sure that we experienced the authentic and diverse cuisine of every region. Diana strives to expose you to the genuine side of Italy.

I am first generation Italian, and with Diana's tour I was able to appreciate my true heritage because we were always in the hands of experts who thoroughly explained the art, culture, and history around us. Each day was so well balanced. We had organized time and free time each day. There is always room for flexibility, and Diana can create opportunities which are not on the itinerary.
